Installation FAQ:

Q: Does my NPFI have to be mounted in a specific direction?

A:   The idea behind the NPFI is that it does not have to be mounted up or down.  It is not affected by gravity.  The NPFI should be installed in a way that the nitrous/fuel mixture is introduced into the intake either before or after the throttle body/carb and is clear from any hot or sharp objects.  It can be mounted into the end of the air cleaner if available or into the plastic or metal intake tube.  Rule of thumb:  Install the NPFI in a way that accessibility will be easy.  Note: CV type carburetors cannot have direct contact with the nitrous flow from the NPFI on the vacuum slide.  This cancels the vacuum signal created by the carburetor itself and essentially, shuts it off.   The injector should either be mounted after the carburetor or mounted so that the nitrous injection is shot across the intake air flow and the carburetor pulls the nitrous/fuel through it.

Q: Does the auxiliary fuel bottle have to be mounted above the NPFI?

A: No. The fuel bottle can be mounted anywhere you wish on the vehicle, higher or lower than the NPFI. The NPFI pulls fuel based on a vacuum created by the nitrous flow. This vacuum has no problem pulling the fuel from a lower fuel source to the NPFI. The best location for the fuel bottle is where the fuel lines can be kept as short as possible on your application.

Q: What angle is best for mounting the Nitrous Bottle?

A: Typical mounting angles for the nitrous bottle are upside down unless a siphon tube was ordered at the time of purchase. The sticker should be facing in a way that you can read it to determine if there is a siphon tube in the bottle. If the sticker is on the bottle upside down, there is no siphon tube in it and the bottle should be mounted upside down. Remember, nitrous in the bottle is in a liquid form. The valve should be at the lowest possible point for the liquid nitrous to come out. Slight angles are okay, but usually no more than a 45 degree angle is advised. You have to keep in mind your riding locations. If you plan to shoot hills the most, you can adjust your bottle angle based upon the hill slopes. If you are at the drag strip where it's flat all the time, more vertical is ideal.
